| Toll
tickets are issued two different ways - either the police
officer sees you run the toll (usually defendable) or a camera takes a
picture and either Sunpass or the Toll-way Authority (Orlando Toll
Roads) notifies you by letter (usually negotiable).
If you have received the letter
- act fast! The earlier you act, the better position we can be in
to negotiate your fines. We may be able to negotiate a smaller
fine, determine if you have any other pending toll violations, and keep
the points off your license. Waiting can cause these tickets to be
scheduled for a hearing and at that point it may be too late (it may
still be resolvable but it becomes that much more difficult).
The registered owner of the
vehicle will receive the notification letter. There is
a defense to a toll violation if you were not driving the car at the
time of the ticket. It requires that you identify the actual
driver (it is presumed that an owner of a vehicle knows who he/she lent
the vehicle to). That person will then be cited for the toll
violation.
Toll Violation Tickets are
moving violations. These can cause points to be placed
upon your driving record which can lead to suspensions. Don't
delay. If you have a toll violation ticket - call us today. |
