If you have not been arrested...
If you have not been arrested but believe you are a suspect in a criminal case it is very important to contact us immediately. The police will move quick to have you speak with them. Whatever you say to them can and will be used against you. Do not talk with the police without first consulting with your attorney. We can invoke your Constitutional Rights and protect you from police interrogations.
If they still charge you with a crime we can help you manage the bond and represent you in your case. We will minimize the amount of time you spend in jail, lower you bond if it is too high, defend you from the state's case, and do everything to get your case dismissed or dropped.
Important for First Time Offenders
If this is the first time you have faced criminal charges you may be in a position to receive several forms of leniency. These are not always available to first time offenders but we try to make them available to all our clients. These are offered by the State Attorney's Office and the Court. These include pretrial diversion (state), pretrial intervention (state), drug court (court), and probation (court). Juvenile offenders have different options.
Criminal Procedure: Time Limitations are in Effect
The rules regarding criminal procedure are strictly adhered to in criminal cases. Time is not one of your friends at this point. Once you have been arrested (this includes receiving a summons to appear) your speedy trial time has started to tick. This is valuable time to a criminal attorney.
