Correction of Errors on your Criminal Arrest History
FDLE provides Help!
Usually, people
expunge prior arrests because
they made a mistake in their past - they committed a youthful mistake and want
to move on. However, sometimes law enforcement incorrectly adds an arrest
to your history that is inaccurate. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement [FDLE] provides a process by which
individuals can request that an error reported on their criminal arrest history
be corrected. This could be an inaccurate charge appearing on your record
or multiple charges in error.
It may be surprising to know that many people with common names have arrest
records appearing on their criminal histories that belong to someone else.
This procedure is set up by FDLE to maintain accurate records. If you
fear that you have a mistaken arrest on your record try contacting FDLE
regarding what you can do to correct it.
